Pendle occurs as local government district and borough of Lancashire, England, on the North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire borders. It adjoins a Lancashire boroughs of Burnley and Ribble Valley. It has the aggregate population of astir 90,000 people, & is represented inside Parliament by Gordon Prentice (Labour).
It was created around 1974 as a result of local government reorganisation from either a previous Municipal Boroughs of Nelson and Colne, the previous urban districts of Barnoldswick, Barrowford, Brierfield, Earby and Trawden, and from either area of Burnley and Skipton Rural District Councils. It was known as fallowing a historical district of Pendle Forest.
A metropolitan area is closely associated by having a Pendle Witches, and a landscape south of the borough is dominated by Pendle Hill.
